Introducing The Steeped Pantry: Tea-Infused Sugars Are Here

Some ideas start with a single cup of tea. This one started with a question: what if the sweetener was part of the ritual, too?

For years, we've been blending loose-leaf teas here in the heart of Texas β€” sourcing thoughtfully, steeping intentionally, and sharing the kind of tea experience that feels like a pause in the best possible way. But somewhere along the way, we started dreaming bigger. What if we could bring that same care and flavor into your pantry? Not just your teacup, but your kitchen counter, your cocktail shaker, your baking bowl?

That's how The Steeped Pantry was born.

The Story Behind the Sugar

We wanted to create something that didn't exist quite the way we imagined it β€” a tea-infused sugar that actually tasted like the tea it was made with. Not a vague floral hint. Not a generic sweetness. A real, intentional flavor that transforms whatever you add it to.

Each small-batch sugar in The Steeped Pantry line is crafted with the same organic ingredients we use in our teas β€” because we believe what goes into your cup (and your kitchen) matters. We tested. We tasted. We steeped and stirred and started over until each one felt exactly right.

The result? Three debut flavors that we are so proud to finally share with you.

How to Use Them: A Recipe for Each

Midnight Lavender London Fog Latte

Using Midnight Lavender Sugar

Steep 1 tsp of Earl Grey or Lavender Earl Grey loose-leaf tea in 6 oz of hot water (185-205 degrees) for 4 minutes. Froth 4 oz of your favorite milk (oat milk is dreamy here). Stir 1–2 teaspoons of Midnight Lavender Sugar directly into the hot tea until dissolved, then pour the frothed milk over the top. Finish with a tiny pinch of dried lavender if you have it. Sip slowly. You've earned it.

Blushed Petal Hibiscus Iced Tea Lemonade

Using Blushed Petal Sugar

Brew a strong Strawberry Hibiscus (2 tsp per 8 oz of water) and let it cool. In a tall glass filled with ice, combine 4 oz of the cooled tea with 4 oz of fresh lemonade. Stir in 1–2 teaspoons of Blushed Petal Sugar until dissolved. Watch it turn the most gorgeous shade of rose. Garnish with a lemon wheel or a few fresh berries and serve immediately.

Golden Chai Honey Latte

Using Golden Chai Sugar

Brew a strong glass of Premium Black tea, Texas Breakfast or Lonestar Chai base (6 oz, steeped 5 minutes). Stir in 1–2 teaspoons of Golden Chai Sugar while the tea is hot. Add a drizzle of honey and a splash of steamed milk or cream. For an iced version, let the sweetened tea cool, pour over ice, and top with cold foam. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of cinnamon on top or a pinch of Golden Chai Sugar. This one is a whole mood.

Golden Chai Scones

Using Golden Chai Sugar β€” because tea-infused sugar belongs in the oven too.

Makes 8 scones

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ΒΌ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp Golden Chai Sugar, plus extra for sprinkling on top
  • 6 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • Β½ cup heavy cream, plus 1–2 tbsp for brushing
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400Β°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and Golden Chai Sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs β€” don't overwork it. Those little butter pockets are what make scones flaky.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla. Pour into the flour mixture and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat into a circle about ΒΎ inch thick. Cut into 8 wedges.
  6. Place on the prepared baking sheet, brush the tops with a little cream, and sprinkle generously with Golden Chai Sugar.
  7. Bake for 14–16 minutes, until the tops are golden and the edges are just set.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes β€” if you can wait that long β€” and serve warm alongside a cup of Lonestar Chai or Texas Breakfast tea.

The warm spices in the sugar do all the heavy lifting here. No extra cinnamon or cardamom needed β€” just let the Golden Chai Sugar shine.

More Than a Sweetener

The Steeped Pantry is just getting started. These three sugars are the first chapter of something we've been building quietly for a while β€” a line of tea-infused pantry goods that bring the ritual of tea into every corner of your kitchen. Honeys, salts, seasonings, and more are on the horizon.

But for now? Start with the sugar. Add it to your tea. Shake it into your cocktails. Dust it over your baked goods. And let us know what you create β€” we'd love to see it.
